Christmas Wish List

Although last week was my final week on the August Guest Diva DT, when Korin asked if I would like to participate in the sneak peeks for Christmas, I just had to say "Yes". I was able to play with one of the new sets, "A Cocoa Kind of Christmas". If you love Cocoa, you are just going to love this sweet set.

Tomorrow, September 1, SNS will be having a blog hop to introduce all the new Christmas stamps. You will have the chance to see the entire "A Cocoa Kind of Christmas" set along with the other fabulous, new stamp sets. I have seen the sneak peeks and I have to admit that some are on my shopping list for Christmas card supplies. I wanted to share some of the wonderful cards I received from my card making friends for my birthday.

I love that each one is a complete different style. Thank you Kimberly, Joy, Karin, Joanne, and Jesse!

Sentimental Sundays #17 - Clean and Simple

The challenge on the Sentimental Sundays blog this week is Clean & Simple. If you follow my blog, you probably know that CAS cards are something I struggle with.
I used an older sketch from Clean & Simple (sketch FTL104) to help get me started. Although I am rather pleased with the way it turned out, I still have a hard time leaving it be. I wanted to add more layers, stitching, or just something! Please stop by Sentimental Sundays to see the rest of the beautiful work from the DT and pick up the free sentiments from Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. I hope you will join our CAS challenge this week. Ann tries to keep it easy and fun. You can use any stamps, rub ons, papers, etc from your stash. You only need to incorporate the weekly theme and use a sentiment. Easy peasy. Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Harvest

I made this card for the Scrapbooking & Crafting Friends DT using an image from Primsy Doodles on mygrafico.com. This scarecrow was just so cute that I had to pair him with these autumn colored papers and some raffia. I don't know why but I love raffia on autumn themed crafts.

My lay out is similar to one I saw and loved on the web last week. I wanted to give proper credit but now I can't find it! If you recognize this layout, let me know and I will give credit where it is due.

Please stop by and sign up to join Scrapbooking & Crafting Friends. It is free and there are a lot of fun, talented people that have already signed up.

Thank you for looking!

Happy Fall with Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

I don't know about you, but I am happy that it is time for the kiddos to head back to school and to get back in to the regular routine. Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love the fall colors, the gorgeous blue skies, the crisp air, and all the fun activities like apple picking, hay rides and bonfires. To celebrate all this good stuff, Lindsay is having an End of Summer sale Thursday through Saturday with 30% off everything in her mygrafico store.

To continue to show my love of the autumn season, I made an easel card this week using Sketchy Leaves along with the cracked glass and ruffled ribbon techniques.

After printing the leaf print on my card stock, I colored it using sponge daubers and my ink pads. It couldn't be easier and I think it looks pretty cool.

I apologize for the quality of my photos this week. I took these pretty late at night and was having some issues with my home-made light box.

Remember to stop by the Lindsay's Stamp Stuff store on mygrafico for the 30% …

Spring Chicken

This is my final post on the August Guest Diva Design team for Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps. I really enjoyed working with Sweet 'N Sassy's fun images.

For today, since my birthday was yesterday and I thought the sentiment was spot on, I decided to share this card made with Spring Chicken. Isn't she sassy and fun? I'm afraid to admit I think she has a bit more flair in accessorizing than I do.

Thank you again to Kim and Korin for the wonderful opportunity to be on the Guest DT for Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day.

Sentimental Sundays #17 - Words to Inspire

The new challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays is "Words to Inspire - Inspiring Words". I love this challenge and wanted to make sure that my sentiment was the focal point of my card.

I found directions on how to make this fun lace flower at Honeybeehill. It was a little difficult with the crocheted lace but I will definitely try it again using traditional lace or even ribbon. I found the button in my stash of buttons from my Grandmother's sewing supplies.I hope you will join us this week for the Sentimental Sundays "Words to Inspire" challenge. Remember the only rules are that you need to use a sentiment on your card and follow the theme. You can use any supplies from your stash to create your project but if you would like you can use the free sentiments on the Sentimental Sundays blog created by the talented Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs .Thank you for looking!Challenges:

Paulette's Day Off Blog Hop

Paulette of Create with TLC recently turned the big 600! No, not her age, but the number of followers on her blog. Candy, who manages theTlc Creations group on CDACfor Paulette, thought it was time she had a day off. Candy and a few followers are taking over Paulette's blog today and organizing a blog hop so Paulette could have some time away. Being as sweet as she is, Paulette didn't want to leave us (or you) empty handed and gave us 7 digis to give away while she is at play.

I am the first stop on the blog hop. Please visit the balance of the ladies to collect your free digis and then stop by Paulette's blog to leave your well wishes.

Here is the list of stops on the blog hop:

Cheryl (you are here)
Jennifer
Jeri
Marlene
Patricia
Candy

And then stop by Paulette's blog.

I received this fabulous sentiment from Paulette for today's blog hop. You should be able to right click and save to your computer. If you have any problems, please leave me a comment with your email add…

Spooky!

First off, I want to let you know that Lindsay is having a sale in her Mygrafico shop today only. 40% off everything in the LSS shop on mygrafico until midnight today. If you have had your eye on a certain set, now is the perfect time to purchase it.

This week I wanted to get start on Halloween projects. I used the Creepy Crow digital stamp set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff and broke out of my comfortable box a little bit. Can you see why? No DP! Amazing isn't it? (Okay, maybe not for most crafters, but it is for me.) I embossed the digital image after printing it on glossy paper and then used sponges and inks to create the background. (You can find out how to do it HERE. It is much easier than it sounds.)

Here is a look at the entire Creepy Crow set. Don't let the name fool you. I have seen several beautiful, non-Halloween projects made using this set.
Thank you stopping by today. Please take some time to see what the rest of the DT has created. Lindsay will have a freebie and …

Friends Forever

I love the challenges over at Clearly Inspired and try to participate each month. Yesterday I realized I was almost out of time for this month's challenge and I didn't have much time available to craft. I thought the perfect solution would be to use one of the precolored Bird on a Wire images from Doodle Pantry. Laurie had them available for free download a short time ago. But, when I went to print them out, I could not find them on my hard drive. I am having issues with my PC and I am not sure what happened to them. (Major bummer!)

I decided to stick with my precolored image idea and remembered that I had some from *Wink *Wink Ink. Thank goodness! I was able to print out this cute image and make the card in one evening (which is pretty fast for me!)

So what do you think? Although I love coloring images, I think I am going to keep these in mind for when I need something quick. Thank you for looking!

A Gift for Snowman

I am still plugging away at my Christmas cards. I am feeling good that I have gotten them started early this year. I hope to avoid the last minute (panicked) rush that usually occurs each December.

When I started browsing the images from Sweet 'N Sassy after being asked to be part of the Guest Design Diva team, I immediately wanted this image. Isn't he cute? He was fun and so easy to color too. I think he looks great paired up with these vintage looking papers.

Sentimental Sundays #16 - Ribbons or Lace

The new Sentimental Sundays challenge, "Ribbon or Lace" is up and there are free sentiments from Raindrop Echo Designs for free download.

Feel free to use the digital sentiments provided, but you don't have to. You can choose to use any stamps you have in your stash, or stickers, rub ons, whatever you like! The only requirement is to follow the theme and use a sentiment on your new project. How easy is that? I hope you will join us.

I decided to alter a little notebook that I purchased from PaperTrey and to use both ribbons and lace on my project. I tried my hand at making crinkled ribbon. I purchased some Hug Snug seam binding on Etsy. I misted a piece of it lightly with rubbing alcohol. I then used 3 different copic markers in 3 different but similar colors to color the ribbon. It doesn't need to be perfect as long as it is mostly covered. I then put it in a plastic baggie and spritzed it a little more with the alcohol and smushed it all around until the ribbon was c…

Make A Wish!

My blogging friend Maria from Crafty Creations was kind enough to send me some Penny Black and Stamping Bella images. I couldn't wait to use them but then life intervened and I was too busy to play with them. I got this one out and colored it while watching "So You Think You Can Dance" with my daughter on Thursday.

I wanted to practice with my Copics (practice, practice, practice, right?) and am happy with the way this image turned out. I didn't like the color of the floor so I went over it with Prismacolor pencils and OMS to change the color a bit.

The image is colored to go with some October Afternoon papers that I had sitting in my stash that I hadn't cut into yet. I like these colors and it makes a great boyish card to add to my stash.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a fabulous week end.

Awards!

I have been blessed with 2 awards this week. I have posted both of them below along with the "rules".

1. Thank the person that gave you this award. Thank you Kathy! Kathy is a new blogging friend and I really enjoy visiting her blog, Lucky Stamper. (And her dog, Lucky, is absolutely adorable.) Please stop by and give her a shout.

2. Copy the award and put it on your blog. (Done)

3. List 3 things that you love about yourself.Oh boy, this is a hard one. 1) I love my creativity and that I found an outlet in paper crafting. That is saying a lot for a right brained, type A, super analytical personality. 2) I love my organizational skills, although they sometimes drive my husband crazy. 3) I love my strength, emotional and physical. I can persevere and get things done. I am also physically strong from all my years at Jazzercise.4. Post a picture you love.

I know this is a crazy picture but I love it. It brings back some really great memories of our visit to Disney World and the fun…

The Perfect Pair

This is another one of those ideas that I have had in my head since I first saw Lindsay's On the Line set and am now just getting the chance to make the card. Since my BFF's wedding anniversary is coming up soon (and I am pretty sure she doesn't look at my blog) I thought I would share this card with you today.

Here is a peek at the entire set.
Please stop by the rest of the DT's blogs for some more eye candy. Lindsay will also have her weekly freebie posted on her blog.

Chocoholic with Sweet 'N Sassy

Okay.... I admit it.... I am a chocoholic... and I had to have the Chocoholic digital stamp set from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.

Don't these chocolates look yummy? You get this image and some other wonderful, chocolaty images in the Chocoholic digital stamp set.

I also decided to used Chocoholic Sentiments on the inside of my card.

Sentimental Sundays - Snow Wonderful

The Sentimental Sundays challenge for this week is "anything goes". I decided to keep plugging away at making Christmas cards and used this snowman image from Prairie Fairy Designs.

I feel like my mojo has left me again. I was all set to send the day (Saturday) crafting and expected to finish several projects but I only finished 2 cards. I battled with my printer - for some reason today it has decided it likes to eat my paper and then get jammed up. I battle with my PC - I am unable to search my files to find what I want unless I remember the file name. After much research and lots of phone calls to people more tech savy then me, I found out it is a "known issue" with Windows 7 but unfortunately none of the available patches have helped me. I feel like I spent the day battling tech problems and it sucked my creativity dry. I hope to get these issues taken care of and feel more creative soon.

I hope your mojo hasn't left you. As I mentioned earlier, the Sentimenta…

Welcome Drake!

One of my very good friends just became a grandma and I am so happy for her. The pictures she has shared of the baby are adorable.

I decided to make a card to send to congratulate her on becoming a grandmother. I didn't have any baby paper handy, so I used this boyish paper and think it works pretty well. I personalized the card by putting the baby's name (Drake) on the front.

Looking at the pictures, I now wish I did something to the lettering to make it stand out more. Since the card is already in the mail, it is too late to jazz it up now.

You probably noticed that I used On the Line by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff again. Not only is this one of my favorite, go-to stamp sets because it is so versatile, I was inspired by this card created by my fellow DT member, Karin. On the Line is a great bargin at only $6 for 19 digital images.

Thank you for stopping by. Please be sure to visit the rest of the DT. Lindsay will have her weekly freebie posted for you.

Warmest Wishes from Cocoa

Yesterday was my first post on the August Guest Design Diva team on the Sweet 'n Sassy digi blog. I took the opportunity to make another Christmas card.

Sweet 'n Sassy has a Cocoa image for almost every occasion. For my card, I used Cocoa's Mittens which was the very first digi I ever purchased from Sweet 'n Sassy back when I was just getting into digis. He was so cute I just couldn't resist. Did you know that you could have the chance to be in the spot light on the Sweet 'n Sassy digi blog? Every Sunday, they choose a customer creation to spotlight.
